She appeared stoic for the patriotic occasion, embracing the white of red, white, and blue in a $3,500 double-breasted wool coat by Gucci.

Melania seems to favor white Gucci coats, and has at least two more in addition to this new one with an A-line silhouette and gold-colored buttons.

Most recently, she picked a $3,980 belted wool one from from Gucci’s Pre-Fall 2019 collection to speak at the Governors’ Spouses’ luncheon held in the Blue Room of the White House in January.

And in September 2018, she wore another $3,980 white Gucci coat, this one with a blue collar and wrists, to meet Polish Polish President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda at the White House.

Today, though, in he newest pristine outerwear pick, she and her husband traveled by motorcade across the Potomac River for the Memorial Day ceremony this morning, after the President wished the nation a ‘HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY’ on Twitter.

As in the past, military honor guards stood silently at the Tomb of the Unknowns, a duty they fulfill year-round.

The President stood, hands clasped, in front of the wreath, which was made up of red, white, and blue flowers. He reached out and touched it, then gave a salute at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

He did not deliver remarks, as is traditional at the annual ceremony. A series of changes were meant to preserve traditions while also maintaining social distancing, reflecting some new realities of the coronavirus pandemic.

The ceremony was scheduled for 10 a.m. but did not begin until 30 minutes after the scheduled start time. The president’s motorcade left the White House at 9:58, according to the pool reporter traveling with him, on a day the president tweeted threats to North Carolina about the GOP convention and defended his decision to play golf on Saturday and Sunday.
